APPEL À LA SOLIDARITÉ AVEC STANDING ROCK CONTRE LE PIPELINE DAKOTA ACCESS // Stand with Standing Rock: Montrealers in solidarity against the Dakota Access Pipeline

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC: Aujourd’hui, le 7 novembre, venez vous joindre à des centaines de Montréalaises et Montréalais (événement Facebook ici) pour une manifestation pacifique à 12h (midi) au Square Victoria, en solidarité avec les défenseur.e.s de l'eau et des communautés autochtones de Standing Rock qui résistent au projet Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) aux États-Unis.
Le DAPL est un oléoduc qui transportera du pétrole de schiste issu de la facturation, en cours de construction par un groupe de grandes entreprises pétrolières et des banques, et défendus avec violence par les forces de police policières locales. Les banques RBC, TD et Banque de Nouvelle Écosse détiennent des investissements cumulatifs de plus de 600 millions de dollars.
Les marcheuses et marcheurs seront encouragé.e.s à aller dans les banques pour fermer leurs comptes ou pour présenter l'avis suivant aux gestionnaires de compte: “Si vous ne désinvestissez pas de ce pipeline dans une semaine, je vais fermer mon compte de banque et retirer tout mon argent”.

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC: Today, on November 7th, join hundreds of Montrealers (see Facebook event here) in a peaceful protest at 12pm (noon) at Square Victoria in solidarity with the water defenders and frontline indigenous communities of Standing Rock.
The DAPL is a massive fracked-oil pipeline being organized by a group of the world’s largest fossil fuel companies and banks; RBC, TD and Scotia Bank have cumulative investments of more than 600 million dollars in the project.
Marchers will be invited to go into their banks and shut down their accounts or present a notice to their bank managers stating that if the bank does not divest from this pipeline within one week, they will close their accounts and transfer their funds.
