Over 200,000 students will be on strike this Thursday, Nov. 10th, across Quebec. This short video explains why Concordia students have voted to join the strike movement. As they explain, student fees are set to rise by nearly 1,700$ over the next five years, a 75% increase.
While the Quebec government argues that it is necessary to increase Quebec tuition fees to closer to the national average in order to better fund universities, students, teachers and many others are concerned that such increases will reasult in many young people either deciding against attending university for financial reasons or graduating with a crippling amount of debt.
