Palestinian and Jewish Unity (PAJU) suspends its vigil in front of Le Marcheur for two weeks.

Montreal, January 27th, 2011 – Following information pointing to a plan by members  of the Mouvement Nationaliste-Révolutionnaire Québécois (MNRQ) to be present in front of the boutique Le Marcheur this coming Saturday, January 29th, 2011, Palestinian and Jewish Unity is suspending its activities on rue St-Denis for two weeks.

The MNRQ is a national-socialist organization, thus representing the expression of the extreme Right (its ideological platform is presented on its web site), similar to the racist and anti-immigrant views which have been expressed by Éric Duhaime through his Réseau Liberté and in the Journal de Montréal. The MNRQ is racist, anti-immigrant and views violence as a revolutionary instrument.

''Palestinian and Jewish Unity  is a human rights organization and its members will not tolerate any from of racism, anti-Semitism or any other expression of xenophobia on our picket line,'' stated Bruce Katz, president of Palestinian and Jewish Unity. Palestinian and Jewish Unity is composed of Jews, Palestinians and other Quebecers of conscience who work together for the promotion of peace in the Middle East and to inform the public of the issues related to the Palestinian question.

'' We are calling on all citizens to denounce the MNRQ because this type of movement has no place in Quebec society,'' Bruce Katz added.

Montréal, Qc. 27 janvier 2011. – En raison de la rumeur selon laquelle des membres du Mouvement Nationaliste-Révolutionnaire Québécois (MNRQ) planifient de se présenter devant la boutique Le Marcheur ce samedi, 29 janvier 2011, Palestiniens et Juifs Unis (PAJU) suspend ses activités rue Saint-Denis pour deux semaines.

Le MNRQ est un regroupement national-socialiste, qui représente donc l’expression de l’extrême-droite ici au Québec (sa plateforme idéologique est présentée sur son site Web).  Il est raciste, anti-immigrants (en ce sens il rejoint les propos déjà exprimés par Éric Duhaime et son Réseau Liberté), et prône la violence comme instrument révolutionnaire.

« Nous, Palestiniens et Juifs Unis, sommes une organisation des droits de la personne et nous ne tolérerons aucune forme de racisme, d'antisémitisme ou toute autre forme de xénophobie sur notre ligne de piquetage », affirme Bruce Katz, président de Palestiniens et Juifs Unis. Palestiniens et Juifs Unis est composé de Juifs, de Palestiniens et d’autres Québécoises et Québécois  de conscience qui travaillent, ensemble, pour la promotion de la paix au Moyen-Orient ainsi qu’à l’éducation du public concernant la question palestinienne.

« Nous lançons un appel à tous les citoyens et citoyennes de conscience pour dénoncer le MNRQ. Ce type de mouvement n'a aucune place ici au Québec », poursuit Bruce Katz.
