Montreal police are coming under increasing criticism for their use of lethal force. Over the past two years, three people have been shot to death during what could have been routine police interventions.
Many other police-related incidents in Montreal and across the country have left the families of the victims seeking answers about why their loved ones died and how come the police officers responsible for their deaths have not been sanctioned.
Update: The Quebec government proposed a procedure for civilian overlook of police-run inquiries similar to the one proposed last year by the liberal government.
