What do condoms have to do with access to abortions?

A longer call out for this event has been sent out by the 2110 center:
it reads as follows:
---------
PRO CHOICE PICNIC!!
sunday april 17
12-5
rain or shine

This sunday come out and celebrate the last day of the 40 days for
life anti-choice vigil set up outside the morgentaler clinic (st
laurent and st joseph).
Let's send them off with a super-fun, family-friendly party on our
side, including awesome dj sets, the marching band, two (!) bbqs,
baked treats, skipping ropes, free condoms, sex ed literature and so
much more!!!
People are welcome to make speeches, lead chants etc (anyone available
for on the spot translation if this happens?).
If it rains we'll party under tarp forts, so come anyways!!!
xo

I had written my critiques and concerns of this approach in hopes
of discussion on the listserve; it has been censured by the moderator.
It read as follows:

There is a troubling lack of analysis when it comes to offering free
condoms and sex-ed lit. while feigning to be in solidarity with the
clinic and its patients. This insinuates that women who need a procedure
were irresponsible, unsafe, and at fault when in actuality abortions are
often needed for medical reasons, as well as for survivors of rape-- and
many other situations where lack of a prophylactic was NOT the issue.
This stance and action is offensive and thoughtless when it comes to the
diverse reasons for having such a clinic.
Furthermore, the "super-fun, party" atmosphere to "celebrate" the end of
the 40 day vigil's SUCCESS of harassing all women and the clinic is
absurd. "Pro-choicers" have stood idly by as religious assholes spread
their hate.
Also, ending a call out with an "xo" (to mean hug and kiss) is neither
comforting nor consensual, and is completely inappropriate considering
the issue at hand.
