SQUAT: THE CITY BELONGS TO US - Montreal premiere
Christophe Coello/FR / 2011 / 94 min / Spanish / S.T. English

An intimate look at the actions of the Barcelona-based activist collective Miles de Viviendas (Thousands of Homes), a robust and diverse group of individuals determined to set condemned buildings free by occupying them and transforming the boarded flats into inspired homes. The film follows this deeply political, radical and committed group as they resist gentrification, bring vitality to forgotten urban spaces, protest against war and neoliberalism, and build community.
