Pendant que partout sur la planète nous célébrions la nouvelle année, Jawaher Abu Rahmah, 34 ans, de Bil’in en Palestine, est morte empoisonnée parce qu’elle avait respiré des gaz lacrymogènes.
Chaque vendredi, depuis six ans, les villageoisES de Bil’in font des manifestations contre la confiscation illégale de leurs terres et les colonies israéliennes toujours en expansion.
Jawaher est la plus récente victime des agressions israéliennes, alors que l’État d’Israël amplifie la répression en Cisjordanie, pour faire cesser la résistance populaire contre le mur d’apartheid israélien.
Ici, à Montréal, nous avons montré clairement notre solidarité avec les villageoisES de Bil’in, en les appuyant pour dans leur poursuite en cour contre deux compagnies enregistrées au Québec, Green Park International et Green Mount International, qui construisent des colonies illégales sur des terres appartenant à Bil’in. Ces compagnies sont complices de l’État israélien dans leurs violations de la Convention de Genève et du Statut de Rome de la Cour internationale de justice, entre autres, qui interdisent à une force occupante de transférer sa population civile dans des territoires occupés suite à une guerre. Nous allons continuer à affirmer notre solidarité avec les luttes de résistance palestiniennes en commémorant les vies de Jawaher et de toutes les femmes palestiniennes tuées, emprisonnées, harcelées ou torturées pour leur participation au mouvement pour la liberté, la justice et la dignité.

While the world was celebrating a new year, Jawaher Abu Rahmah (34 years) died in a Ramallah hospital from poisoning due to tear gas inhalation. Jawaher was an activist and is the latest victim of Israeli aggression, in an escalating attempt to stop the popular struggle against the apartheid wall not just in Bil'in, but across the West Bank.
Here in Montreal and around the world, in a growing grass roots movement we are showing the world that on the streets we will continue to stand in solidarity with their struggle to commemorate the lives of Jawaher and all Palestinian women killed, jailed, because of their leadership in the Palestinian movement for freedom, justice and dignity.
Here in Montreal we will be gathering to show our solidarity with Jawaher and the continued popular resistance because of our support for Bil’in in their lawsuit against the two Quebec registered companies, Green Park International and Green Mount International, who have constructed illegal settlements on land belonging to Bil’in, This makes the companies accomplices of the Israeli state in their violations of the Geneva Conventions, the Statute of Rome of the International Court of Justice, among others, which prohibits an occupying force from transferring its civilian population to territories occupied as a result of war. Justice must be done!
