Visionnement de "Il Était Une Fois La Révolution"

C’est un film italien de Sergio Leone sorti en 1971 (157min).

Tourné en post-synchronisé, son titre est d’abord : Duck, You Sucker
(littéralement : « Baisse-toi, ducon ! », mais traduit dans la version
française par : « Planque-toi, connard ! ») puis : A Fistful of Dynamite.
Le titre italien en est : Giù la testa (« Baisse la tête ») Mexique,
1913.

Deux personnages font connaissance: un pilleur de diligences, Juan Miranda
(Rod Steiger), et un Irlandais, membre de l’IRA en fuite, spécialiste en
explosifs, John Mallory (James Coburn) — mais dont le véritable prénom est
bien Sean, le personnage souhaitant occulter son passé irlandais en
dissimulant son identité. Juan voit en John le complice idéal pour braquer
la banque d’État (chose rare, les banques, au Mexique, étant toutes
privées en 1913...) qui se révélera plus riche en prisonniers politiques
qu’en lingots d’or. Juan et John vont alors se trouver plongés en plein
cœur de la tourmente de la révolution mexicaine, et ce, bien malgré eux.

Film Screening of "Duck, You Sucker!"

Duck, You Sucker! (Italian: Giù la testa), also known as A Fistful of
Dynamite and Once Upon a Time… the Revolution, is a 1971 Zapata Western
film directed by Sergio Leone. 157min

The setting is Mexico in 1913, at the time of the Revolution. Juan Miranda (Rod Steiger), a Mexican outlaw
leading a bandit family, meets John (Sean) Mallory (James Coburn), an
early Irish Republican explosives expert on the run from the British.
Noting his skill with explosives, Juan relentlessly tries to make him join
a raid on the Mesa Verde national bank. John in the meantime has made
contact with the revolutionaries and intends to use his dynamite in their
service. The bank is hit as part of an orchestrated revolutionary attack
on the army organized by Doctor Villega (Romolo Valli). Juan, interested
only in the money, is shocked to find that the bank has no funds and
instead is used by the army as a political prison. John, Juan and his
family end up freeing hundreds of prisoners, causing Juan to become a
"great, grand, glorious hero of the revolution" (Film in French)
