The We are All McGill demonstration and general assembly took place on November 14th at 1 PM in front of the James Administration building on McGill's downtown campus. The event was a peaceful protest of the brutality against students and faculty by SPVM riot police on the campus last Thursday, November 10th, as well as an expression of growing frustration in the community with what are being referred to as authoritarian and unrepresentative policies and practices by the Administration.
This report includes footage of members of McGill's community who were invited to speak in front of James yesterday about the events of November 10th, as well as interviews with members of the crowd, many of whom had only learned about the police violence after the fact and had come to the demonstration to express their remorse as well as to find out more about what had happened.
This report originally aired on CKUT's Off the Hour on November 15th, 2011, 17h-18h.
