our hearts were bursting with love and cheer after hearing of the many times our friends have courageously shut down pipelines in recent months. so in the early hours of january 25,2016 we found our own courage and took action against enbridge and their line 9.

On December 4th 2015, Enbridge’s began pumping tar sands crude on its 40 year old line 9 pipeline.
On the same day, 22 year old Rachel Thevenard, began an 800 km run, through the route of the pipeline, to bring awareness, about the dangers of Line 9. Today she completed her, 831 kilometer run at the Enbridge refinery, in so called “Montreal”

Last Monday, December 7, 2015 three protesters locked themselves to a valve they closed along Enbridge's Line 9B pipeline as it enters Québec from Ontario. The valve controlling flow of tar sands bitumen was turned off by one of the protestors prior to the lockdown, effectively cutting the flow of up to 100,000 barrels of the world's dirtiest oil for 10 hours.

Several people have locked themselves to infrastructure of Enbridge's Line 9 pipeline this morning, Dec 7, near where it crosses the Ontario - Qubec border in the municipality of St-Justine-de-Newton. This action has caused Enbridge to stop the flow of oil as of now.

At around 6:30am on October 7, four women locked themselves to the games of a Suncor oil refinery in Montreal's east end to take direct action against the tar sands and Enbridge's Line 9 pipeline. Enbridge is hoping to reverse the flow of Line 9 by November 1st in order to bring tar sands Bitumen from the west towards the east.

Unfortunately, the space is not fully accessible. It is on the first floor of the building but the front door has a two metre-long steep ramp that has an inch-high step at the top. The bathroom has a three inch-high step and does not have enough room for a wheelchair between the toilet and sink./Malheureusement, cet espace n'est pas complètement accessible. Il est au rez-de-chaussée d'un immeuble, mais la porte principale a une rampe de deux mètres de long qui a un marchepied d'un pouce de hauteur.
