At 3pm around 300 protesters gathered at jean-talon metro for the 18th annual Protest against Police Brutality. They had barely made it 200 meters before Montreal Riot Police decided to pre-emptively shut it down by arresting everyone. Then for hours, the police chased around pockets of resistance through the surrounding streets. By the end 288 people received 638$ fines for a P-6 municipal bylaw violation and only 4 received actual criminal charges. This is not the first nor will it be the last time Montreal Police heavily clamp down on this annual protest.
