Travel visas for at least 170 people hoping to travel to Montreal for the World Social Forum next week have been refused, according to Metro News, and the total number of visas refused or blocked is over 200, according to the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN).

Citizens Talk About Local Dangers and Climate Change Implications

TransCanadavs open house in Lachute, QC, was interrupted at around 6 pm on Tuesday September 30th. A group of 10 people began the disruption with a short skit mocking the inability of pipeline companies to respond to spills. The group held up posters naming the towns and dates of nine major recent spills of TransCanada and Enbridge pipelines.

Proposed Pipeline Projects Connecting the Resistance

Camp Line 9 is happening right now and is part of the growing opposition to transportation of tar sands oil through Quebec. Located on traditional Kanienkehaka (Mohwak) land that is now a spruce tree nursery in St. Andre d’Argenteuil, QC, near the Ottawa River northwest of Montreal, it began on September 20 and continues until October 4.
