Hamilton declared a Sanctuary City
Last year, Toronto was declared a sanctuary city, meaning that the city's services were accessible to all its residents regardless of immigration status. Hamilton's municipality followed in its footsteps in a historic vote. This is a clear symbolic gesture, but there still is a long way to go. Amelie Phillipson spoke to Maria Antelo from the city coalition of Hamilton. This segment was aired on Off the Hour, CKUT's community news program (90.3 FM).
