Reading Group: Desert

Saturday 16th, 3pm: Sections 1-3

Saturday 23rd, 3pm: Sections 4-6

Saturday March 2nd, 3pm: Sections 7-10

(Texts available in english at La Belle Époque)

Desert is an anarchist’s analysis of 'climate change'. Global liberation
is not on the horizon. The climate is changing at increasing rates and
there is little possibility of stabilization. Droughts, floods, mass
starvation, resource-driven wars are near-inevitabilities of the next
century. How can anarchists avoid the leftist pitfalls of defeatism and
idealism? This reading group will explore a few main themes in Desert:

- Capitalism and the State as forces, not totalities.

- Bioregional possibility

- Anarchist visions in an age of climate change in North America
