Thursday June 21, 19h

2hr 19min, French with English subtitles

The Army of Crime is a film about the very first days of the French resistance to Nazi occupation. The film follows a group of resistance fighters largely composed of radically political Poles, Jews, Armenians, Spaniards and Italians who feared french collaborators as much as the Nazi occupiers.

The group carried out some of the first acts of sabotage, propaganda and assassinations against the fascist occupiers before they were ultimately rounded up and executed. They were dubbed "The Army of Crime" and labelled as terrorists and foreign agitators/communists in order to discredit their activities which were later taken up by large sectors of the French people.
