Daniel T'seilie is in Durban with the Canadian Youth Delegation. A Dene youth from Fort Good Hope, Northwest Territories, he was slated to speak at the closing plenary of the Kyoto Protocol negotations. Because the negotations have dragged out for a day longer than expected, he won't be reading his statement.
But the Media Co-op spoke to him yesterday afternoon in anticipation of his statement. This interview was originally planned to be released following his intervention at the plenary (that's why he is speaking in the past tense).
In this short interview he discusses why he came to Durban, what he would have said to delegates and the challenges of organizing across the expansive arctic.
