There is a clear and growing discontent being voiced in Canada, the US and
elsewhere in the world on the question of big banks, government and the
world of finance. The Occupy Movement is taking up these issues and, more
than other struggles in North America in recent years, is uniting
progressive people with many varying agendas. This push to find a new
economic path that doesn't lead to great wealth disparities and a
privileged few playing with the fate of many, requires some understanding
of how economics works.

Jim Stanford is a Canadian economist, works for the Canadian Auto Workers, founder of the Progressive Economics Forum and authored the book: Economics forEveryone. His book, Economics for Everyone, was translated by Montreal Press,Lux Editeur, into "PETIT COURS D'AUTODÉFENSE EN ÉCONOMIE". His work strives to give insight for ordinary people into the world of economics. He spoke withCourtney Kirkby last week about the launch of the french translation of Economics for Everyone.
