An increasingly important source of natural gas in North America is the so called shale gas. There is an uncertainty about its the environmental impact and many different arguments around the issue of shale gas.

In March 2011, the Quebec government put all fracturing activity related to shale gas development on hold until a comprehensive environmental review is concluded.

There's a cycle of conferences which started in 2011 from the 'collectif scientifique sur la question du gaz de schiste' and all of the conferences are related to shale gas.

Marieve Isabel speaks about the situation in Quebec and why it is important to discuss the issue of shale gas also in terms of the communication aspect.
